John 4:39

I know you ladies can relate with this video I did this morning.  My outfit almost ruined my day… but God placed Galatians 5 before my eyes…see if you can relate to this video.

Leave me a comment to let me know what do you do when your day starts out bad? We can all help each other, so share with us what God gives you to get you through.

I pray this video is an encouragement to your day!

My Eyes Are On You

addict2Do you ever have those days when you just think you can’t go on?  Do you have days when the weights of life are pulling you down, and you just don’t know what to do or how to go on? Everything that could go wrong, is going wrong.  Yep, I know exactly how you feel.

We all have these days from time to time.  I was reading in 2 Chronicles 20 this morning about a man who felt the same way as you and I.  His name is King Jehoshaphat.  At the beginning of the chapter he is very perplexed about the army he has been told is coming against them.  It wasn’t just any army, but a VAST army. They were on their way, so there was very little time to prepare for battle.

I’d say when he heard that an army twice the size of his was coming after he and his people, he was pretty alarmed! I know I would be shaking in my boots!

Yet as alarmed as King Jehoshaphat was, he stopped to inquire of the Lord. He didn’t run around shouting, and panicking. No he stopped to talk to God.  This was the most important thing he could do with the news he had been given.

We have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us.  We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you. 2 Chronicles 20:12

When Jehoshaphat didn’t know what to do, he knew the one who did.  He called upon God for an answer to his need.

Then the Lord began to speak to them, and they listened!

Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army.  For the battle is not yours, but God’s.  You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you… Jehoshaphat bowed down with his face to the ground, and all of the people of Judah and Jerusalem fell down in worship before the Lord.

King Jehoshaphat did just as the Lord instructed.  He trusted Him completely with this battle.  I love that after God gave him the instruction and told him He would deliver them, Jehoshaphat fell down and worshiped Him.

He went ahead and claimed the victory before the battle was ever fought!

He placed the singers at the front of the army!  I just love this!(especially since I sing)   They went out to battle singing praises to the Lord.  This is what they sang:

Give thanks to the Lord for His love endures forever.

While they were marching and praising they arrived at the place that overlooked the desert where this vast army was, but they only saw dead bodies lying on the ground; no one had escaped.

Well somebody say Glory!

I love this story.  It reminds me that all I need to do is trust the Almighty God for deliverance.  No matter the need, He is the answer!

It also reminds me that when we praise Him, when we are caught up in worshipping God, we forget about the anxiety we were feeling worrying over the battle.

What battle are you facing right now in your life?

Take your need, give it to the Lord and know He will fight for you.  If it’s an addiction, He will break the chains that bind you.  If it’s sickness, He will heal you.  If it’s financial issues, He will come through.  If you’re alone, abandoned and forsaken, He will walk with you.  He is all you and I need in any battle we face.  addict1

All we have to do is simply trust Him, and keep our eyes on Him.

You see King Jehoshaphat called on the name of the Lord before He ever went into the battle.  He didn’t wait and call on God as a last resort, no!  He knew where to go first thing!  Straight to God for the answer to the need!

Oh what a reminder for me today!  I don’t need to worry and fret but take every need to my wonderful Lord first thing, lay it down at His feet, worship Him because He is worthy, and then get up and claim the victory and go ahead and praise Him!

Oh my, that makes me what to shout!  My friends wherever you are today, and whatever the need, remember to take it to the Lord and let Him fight your battles.  Oh my the peace I have in my heart today.  There is nothing too big for God to handle.

Abraham says in Genesis: Is anything too hard for God?

Today claim 2 Chronicles 20:12, Lord I don’t know what to do, but my eyes are You.

Now get up and start praising Him.  Put on some music and let His love saturate you today.  It’s praise time! Deliverance has come from your battle, claim it! That’s cause to dance for Jesus!

I look forward to meeting you back here next week.

Let’s Get Busy

tammy23Hello everyone!  It’s a gorgeous fall day today.  The perfect day to talk some more about our friend Tabitha, whose story is in Acts chapter 9 in God’s Word.

So we’ve talked about how she built a ministry, and how she drew the women to her.  Today I want to focus on a few words in verse 39.  It says she did all of these things WHILE SHE WAS HERE.

It seems we get caught up in our day to day life and think, I will start that tomorrow… But then tomorrow turns into, next month, and next month turns into next year, and then before you know it we never think about it anymore.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve thought, “I’m going to go see___________, and just encourage them.  Then something comes up and I don’t go.  So many times death has come to that person before I could get there, and feel so bad because I didn’t go when the thought came to my mind.  You know what I mean?

Tabitha got busy for Christ and she took every opportunity to minister on a daily basis, whether at the grocery story, at church, out on the streets.  She was putting into action the ministry Jesus had placed on her mind and in her heart.  She was doing it while she was here.

I love that her ministry grew and everyone in Joppa knew about Tabitha.  The love of Jesus was seeping out of her and drew others to her.

God has been convicting my heart about this very thing.  The New Testament again and again tells us to go into the world with the gospel.  We are the hands and feet of Jesus to this world.  women

I am working fervently on all the things God has been placing on my heart.  I want to share Jesus and His hope with those in the world who desperately need to hear that He loves them.  I want to use the gifts God has blessed me with to share Him in this world.

Today could you spend some time praying about what you have that you could use to share Jesus with someone else?

When God shows you the what and the how, it’s time to put it into action.  Go do it!

It’s time for us as Christians to get busy about our Father’s work.  He created us to serve Him.  There is a world who needs to know that Jesus loves them.  There are those who went to bed last night wondering why they were created.  They need to know of the hope found only in Jesus Christ.

There are those who are trying to fill the void in their lives with drugs, alcohol, and sex.  They need to know Jesus is the only one who can fill the void in their hearts.

There are those dealing with all kinds of grief and want to give up.  They need to know there is always hope in Christ.

Today I challenge you to determine to use the gifts God has given you, and step out in faith and share Jesus with this world while you are here.

I heard a pastor say, “One day this life will all be past, but only what’s done for Christ will last.”

I want to make a mark for Christ.  Will you join me?  I want to make a mark for Christ WHILE I’M HERE.reaching

Join me here next week as we dig deeper into the story of Tabitha together.  I can’t wait to study with you!  Have a great week.

Sharing Jesus

chbo1I spent the weekend with some wonderful women speaking at a Women’s Retreat.  One of the stories I shared has stayed on my mind.  Acts 9:36-42 is the story of a woman named Tabitha or Dorcas. She is the only woman the Bible calls a “disciple.”

God drew me to this story several years back, and it just became one of my favorites quickly.  We know nothing about her background but what we do know is that she had a great ministry happening in the seaside town of Joppa.  Somewhere along her journey Tabitha met Jesus and gave her life to Him.  She then began to use what God had given her to minister to the women in this town.

Many of the women in Joppa were widows whose husband’s has gone to sea and never came back.  Some of the women were so poor, they had nothing. They had no one to care for them or their children.

Tabitha loved to sew, so she began to make shawls to give to these women.  This was the way she reached out to them.  Then I believe she invited them into her home for some tea and cookies.  This is where she began to build a relationship with them.

As she listened to them tell her about their lives, she began to share about where the road of life had taken her.  She used the story of her journey to tell them about Jesus.

Just as God used David and His sling, Moses and his rod, Rahab and some string; He used Dorcas and her needle.  When we surrender our lives to God, He can take anything and use it for His good.

What do you have in your life that God could use?

The love of God flowed from Tabitha.  I’m sure the women didn’t have to spend very much time with her before they saw Jesus in her.  What a heart she had for Christ.

I so desire to be that woman.  I want everyone who is with me to see Jesus oozing out of every part of me.  I want to use my life to tell people about Him, and His saving grace.  In order to do that I have to open up my heart and share what God has done for me.

Again I ask you, what gifts do you have that you could be using for ministry?

Tabitha used what she had, a needle.  When she placed it in God’s hands, He used it to build a ministry right in her home.

All God needs is a willing heart.  Will you decide today to let God use you to tell others about who He is?

Next week we will talk more about Tabitha and her story.  For this week pray for opportunities to share Jesus.  What has God given you to share with others?

Meet me here next week, and we will continue our discussion…

Yesterday our Pastor began a series in Philippians, which I so enjoyed.  He encouraged us to go ahead and read chapter 2 to get ready for next week’s sermon.  So I decided to read it this morning.  I could hardly get past the very first phrase.  Read it with me.

Is there any encouragement from belonging to Christ? Philippians 2:1…

So I ask you the same question, because the answer has excited me all day long.  For you is there any encouragement from belonging to Christ? There is great encouragement in belonging to Christ, but in order to know that encouragement, you and I must pick up His Word and read it!smiley

If I say I belong to Him, then I need to spend time with Him.  I need to make sure I spend time with Him.  You see, I can see a difference in me when I’ve been with Jesus! Especially when I spend time with Him regularly.  So guess what? Others can see I’ve been with Jesus also. They see Him in my ways and my words, in all I do.  It is so evident to others when we spend time with Jesus.  He encourages us in His Word and we in token encourage others with that same encouragement we received.

In the same token, when we don’t spend time with Him, guess what? I can sense it in my day and in my attitude.  My day just doesn’t flow like it does when I start it with Jesus.  Then when others see us, they too can tell when we don’t spend time with Jesus.  It shows in our lives.

I’m going to spend more time on this later in the week, but for now, I ask each one of you to go read Philippians chapter 2.  Just sit with Jesus for a bit and enjoy your time with Him.  Have some coffee and just talk.

There is great encouragement in belonging to Christ.  He speaks to me all throughout my day and reminds me what to say, and makes me smile along the way.  I am so thankful for the relationship I have with Jesus.  May I encourage you to go take some time right now to sit at His feet.

Who Will You Decide To Share Jesus With in 2016?

Hello my dear, sweet friends.  I have not blogged in months.  I somehow got off the beaten path of blogging and just didn’t get back on. I was letting other things keep me busy and not committing to take the time I had to share Jesus on my site.  As I’ve prayed for several weeks the sweet Holy Spirit has been nudging me and telling me, “When are you going to do the work I have for  you to do? If you will be transparent and tell others, I will do the rest.” So this year I am jumping off and yielding to the Holy Spirit and telling Jesus, “Yes!”

I was driving and listening to Casting Crowns the other day.  He was talking about the woman at the well.  I turned off the radio and began to think on this story in the Bible.  When Jesus met her there that day, He changed her life.  She left there a different woman than when she came.  Before that day, she was ashamed of who she was and all the things she had done.  She worked hard to stay hidden from the people of the city.

But after she met Jesus she had two options.  She could have decided to just go home and ask the man to leave, and just live her life, telling no one what Jesus had done for her.  She still would have been a saved woman.  But she chose to go into the town and hold her head high, unashamed of whom she had been.  It didn’t matter anymore.  She wanted everyone to know this man, Jesus, and how He had changed her life that day.  I would imagine that many who didn’t know Jesus, thought, “If He can change her, He can change me.” So countless people found Jesus because of her willingness to run and tell.

That’s where I am today.  I want to spend my life, telling others what Jesus has done for me.  I would to share the hope that is found only in Him.  I want to stand up boldly and speak for my Lord, who pulled me from a horrible pit and placed my feet on the rock.  I want to make a difference for Him with my life.

So I am so happy to begin 2016 by saying, “Jesus send me where you would have me go, and prepare the way ahead, because I am Your Servant, and I want to use my life to share the message of hope found only in You with this world.” So I hope to see you soon at your church or event to share my story to help others find Jesus. Choose today to be transparent and share what Jesus has done for you!

Isaiah 43:1

Do not fear for I have redeemed you, I have summoned you by name; You are mine.

Living on fire for the Lord

We go to church and we hear the minister speak of telling others about Jesus, and somehow we believe we need to bring them to church so the minister can tell them about Jesus.  We have gotten this mentality that only the theologians are qualified to lead men and women to Jesus.  Yet in the Bible over and over we see how Jesus used common people to go tell the world about Him.

As I was reading in I Corinthians 2, Paul was telling the people in the beginning of this passage that he came to them in weakness; timid and trembling.  He used a simple message, no eloquent words, to impress the people.  He simply told them about Jesus and who He was and why they needed Him.  He relied totally on the power of the Holy Spirit to use his words so the people would see the power of God and know only God could have been speaking through him.

Jesus simply needs us to be His hands and feet in this world.  When He said, “Go ye into the world…” , He wasn’t referring to only those who had been to Bible college, but to all men and women.  It is our responsibility to tell people about Jesus, then we pray and allow the Spirit of God to take our words and plant seeds in hearts.

So often we place it on our pastors and those in leadership to be the ones to lead people to Jesus, but Jesus calls each one of us to tell others about who He is.

Paul allowed God to speak through him and use the words He spoke to bring life to the people.  He did not rely on his own power and strength.  Paul knew how Jesus changed lives because He had completely changed his! Sometimes I think we need to go back and remember just what Jesus has done for each one of us.  I can’t imagine where I would be today without Him.  Some days it does me good to go back and remember just what God has brought me from, and through!

Then we need to pray and ask God to give us a burden for the lost souls in our world today.  The Bible says, “The harvest is plenty, but the laborers are so few.” It’s time to stand up boldly and tell others about Jesus.  My salvation not only promises me a life in heaven, but peace and joy on this earth.  Don’t we want that for everyone?

I know I get so caught up in daily living and all the things in my own life, that I forget the reason I am here on this earth.  To go out and be disciples and bring others to a saving knowledge of the Savior.  I need to take my eyes off of myself, and place them on those who so desperately need to hear my story of how I met Jesus, just in simple words, my story can make a difference in the lives of others.

Paul’s story made a difference.  Can you imagine the excitement in his voice when he shared Jesus, and he told them, I was killing Christians, I was the one all of you were afraid of.  I was knowledgeable of God and the Bible, but I didn’t have a personal relationship with Jesus.  But then one day I was walking down the road to Damascus and Jesus passed by my way, and let me tell you how He has changed my life.  Oh my the excitement he must have had as he shared what Jesus had done for him.

Do you have that same excitement? May we each pray for a burning passion to tell others about this wonderful Lord we know.  We don’t have to be a scholar to tell people about Jesus.  We just need to tell what He has done in our lives.  Share our story with others and allow the Holy Spirit to do the rest.

I love the words to this song.  May it burn in each one of us to use our lives to tell this world about Jesus Christ, the greatest story they will ever hear is the one about salvation.

Help me win the lost and see them in their need.

Help me win the lost, salvation’s cause to plead.

Help me win the lost, oh Spirit please empower, oh please

Help me win the lost, use me now this hour. thLCK2XDW2

The Wrestling Match

Yesterday was a normal day, started like any other, but it turned into a huge wrestling match. Today this picture makes me laugh, yesterday is another story.  I was praying for a friend whom I knew was battling through difficult times.  My heart ached for this friend for I understood how hard the battle was for them right now in their life.  I began to cry out to God on my friend’s behalf.

As I began to cry out on their behalf and command satan to get away, I felt satan coming after me.  Isn’t that how he works? Even though I had began prayer to battle for another, I was the one now being attacked.

In Colossians chapter four, we hear about how Epaphras, was praying for the people, the Bible says , “He was wrestling in prayer for them…

Yesterday me and satan were in a wrestling match.  This is where he attacks us so often, in our prayer lives.  He heard me calling out for my friend, and he didn’t like it one bit.  He doesn’t want us calling out to our Almighty God on the behalf of others.  So it is here, he began to attack my mind.  He began to remind me of mistakes, and he waged war on my mind. He began to make me feel unworthy, small, and was trying to take my confidence in Christ away.

I felt like I was in a big wrestling ring and he was pinning me in those ropes on the sides, then slinging me across the ring. You know what I mean? You see the picture on this post? I felt like the little boy being pounced on by that huge man.  It was painful.

My grandfather used to watch wrestling on television.  He would sit there loving watching these big guys throw one another across the floor.  They would put the arms of their opponent in the ropes and then they would hit them or sling them across the ring.  Then the men would laugh as their opponents hit the ground. It didn’t stop there, then they would jump on top of them as they were lying on the floor in pain.  It was hard to watch sometimes.  (even though I knew some of it was fake)

Yet I felt the pain of satan waging war on me all day yesterday.  It was as if he was jumping up and down on me over and over.  When I would try to concentrate on calling out to God and quoting Bible verses, satan would just come throw me across the floor.  He tried to break my concentration, to wear me down.  Finally at last I was tired and weary. He thought he had gotten what he wanted.  I was broken and unable to fight any longer.  At least that’s what he thought.

We can’t let him win the battle that easily. The Bible talks of wrestling against the darkness, principalities.  In this christian life, he is going to continually wage war against us however he can.  His goal is to keep us down.  Epaphras I am sure was tired as he prayed for the people in Colossians, but he kept wrestling, and praying, determined to keep his focus on God, and not let Satan get his eyes off of those people.  It had to be a battle or the Bible wouldn’t call it wrestling.

So today I am up.  He will not tie my hands in the ropes or keep me down.  My eyes are on Jesus, the perfecter of my faith.  I will get on my knees and keep praying and calling out endlessly for others.  I will not be stopped by satan, because I know that my Lord is greater and stronger and when I am weak, He is strong.

We must keep wrestling , staying our knees, even when it seems we need shin guards on.  We are in a battle, but Jesus is at the front of the army. So keep your eyes on Him and keep on praying and crying out and pushing through! Don’t grow weary in well doing but press on, with your eyes on the prize!

As I type this today I am smiling and telling satan to just go away because this girl is going to tie his arms in the ropes! This is war and it’s time to take a stand and not back down from these attacks.  God is fighting for us and He wins every time. Today I am rejoicing, knowing victory is sweet.  So wherever you are being attacked today, stand strong, and stay in battle on your knees.  Victory is coming your way my friend.
