This song reminded me of Psalm 146 that simply begins by saying, “Praise the Lord!” I love it. Oh if we would just get up each morning and say, “Praise the Lord, it is good to sing Your praises!” It puts a smile on my face just to say it aloud. Imagine if everyday we determined that no matter what the day looks like we are simply going to praise Him through the battle.
I want to live so close to Christ that I get up and even when the battle is raging in my life, I determine to praise Him in the midst of the battle. I am reminded that demons have to flee at the mention of the name King of Majesty! That is shouting material my friends. The battle takes on a whole new perspective when I have the attitude of praise no matter what.
Secondly, praise Him for the victory that is coming. I am promised victory from the battle that rages on. In II Chronicles when King Jehoshaphat called on the Lord when he was alarmed at the battle that was coming, God told Him that He alone would take care of this battle. So even before God had ambushed the people for them, the King led his people to sing praises to the Lord. He knew that victory was coming, and victory is sweet. When we know we can trust our God for deliverance we can sing and praise Him in the storm for the victory coming!
Lastly let’s go ahead and praise Him for the next battle that is coming our way. We know as long as we are alive there will be warfare headed our way. As long as I am on a mission for my King, the king of darkness will try to destroy any efforts and try to keep me from fulfilling what God has called me to do. So what will I do? What Psalm 146 says, “Praise the Lord!” I don’t care what is coming, I trust my risen Savior to take care of me.
Psalm 146 goes on to say, “Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God. He is the God who made the heavens, the sea, everything we see. He executes justice, He gives food to the hungry, the Lord gives freedom to the prisoners. He opens the eyes of the blind. He raises those who are bowed down.” These are promises from His Word.
If you are bowed down today. Lift your head and begin to sing praises to your God. He is going to deliver you in His perfect time. Go ahead and praise Him now and march on through the battle singing His praises! Then remember there will be other battles, so be prepared. Keep your armor on and know that greater is He that is within us, that he that is within the world! Smile today knowing there is nothing God can’t handle. Put on your praise today!
“Praise Him, praise Him, praise Him when the sun goes down.”
